Hey Everyone

Hey Family, I want to post my April goal a few days early so that you can all be prepared when April actually starts. So, maybe we could start posting our results for Leesa's March goals.

  2. Well I have not done super well on this one. I am saving one of mine for the spring so I can empty the water barrels and this will help me to get it done. I did go through the back packs and got a book by Suzie orman but had to wait for it from the library so now I got it and can read it. I did work on my packets yet not completely finished. On a highlight I tried Leesa's homemade refried beans in the crock pot so I could make a meal with storage. Dried bean have always scared me but this prompted me to try it and use the beans I'm buying and storing. They were so good and easy. Everyone here loved them so I'm way excited to make them again and have something to do with the beans that is not sure hard. Thanks for the push to try them.
PS can you sprinkle millet in other things to help with the gas or just beans?

  3. Has anyone tried Leesa's refried beans recipe with black beans? Ronda, what else are you thinking of sprinkling millet into?

  4. I don't know maybe like chili or potatoes or other things that are hard on the tummy!

  5. As I understand it, millet has a few digesting enzymes that are lacking in beans, in a sense of digestability. I don't know if they would have the same effect when eaten with potatoes. One good thing about millet is that it's little and cooks quickly (compared to all the other grains anyway). We've had millet cooked with raisins and cinnamon, like you'd make oatmeal too.
Sally and I have both tried the bean recipe with black beans. Since they are smaller the only thing to change in the recipe is the cooking time. Black beans get done faster. I can't remember how much faster, but I'd check them at about half the time to be safe.
