Family Goals 2011?

Hey everyone, just wondering a few things: 1. are we going to do goals again this year and 2. if we do them, what is the order going to be (same as last year; guys first then girls; vice versa, couples right after each other? Let me know, January is right around the corner! HOpe you all have a wonderful New Year!!

November Goal

We had lots of fun with this goal. The day before Jason posted the goal I hung up
a poster that we could all right down things we were thankful for at any time. It was
fun to see it hanging and then be able to talk about it at dinner. The girls had fun writing
things as they thought of them and then sharing it at dinner together. It was a really great
goal especially after conference and President Monsons talk about being happy with what
we have instead of focusing on what we don't have. We really enjoyed this as a family-thanks Jason.

I hope we do goals next year as I already have a great one!

December Goal

I know that we originally planned for no goal in December, but I was thinking it might be a good idea if each of us made it a goal to submit a family history and photo for the Tuttle centennial celebration. I really want to get a book and would love to have a snippet about each of my family members in there. And, sadly enough, I will not be attending the reunion, so hopefully someone will get me a book. :)

Swenson November Goal Results

We were once again fairly lame at fulfilling our goal. I did pretty good at the beginning of the month by writing down what I was grateful for and what blessings I have noticed in my life. Sometimes Steve and I would talk about it. Doing it at dinner time as a family was a great idea, but I think Steve only ate with us on average once or twice a week. Even though I didn't always say aloud what I was grateful for, I definitely thought about it more than I normally do. It's amazing how one can stop feeling sorry for oneself when we are focused on all the Heavenly Father has really given us. This goal helped me to stop complaining as much and try to focus on the positive instead. Thanks Jason for the goal and hopefully this will be something that we will continue to work on, especially with our children.

Jones Nov. results

We had a lot of fun with this goal. Most dinnertimes we went around the table and everyone said something they were thankful for. (Especially a great activity with the Thanksgiving holiday in Nov.) Funny thing was every time we did it the kids had to name about 20 things they were thankful for instead of just one thing. I guess thankfulness is contagious. We found many, many things for which we are thankful. Thanks for the goal Jason.
ps. We loved Ron and Ronda's poster idea. Hopefully we'll remember it to do it next year!
