Oven

I just wanted to share an idea. Last weekend Ron showed the Girl Scouts how to bake a cake in a cardboard box. He only needed tin foil, coals, and a box. We put the cake in and about 45 min. later it was done and tasted great. So I have been thinking what a good idea to have in our emergency prep items. An apple box or similar size, a big roll of tin foil and a few bags of charcoal. He only needed a few coals and it could bake whatever we needed. The charcoal would be a lot easier to store and safer than propane to run the grill or camp stove not that we wouldn't store any propane. So just an idea to throw out there for everyone to think about.

  1. That's cool. A few weeks ago in a Relief society meeting we made Solar ovens and cooked some food in them. It would be fun to do either of these things for emergency preparedness.

  3. Do we need the heavy duty stuff or will the cheap stuff work as well?
