Riskedahl Family

When we were in ND this summer we had a little family reunion with my family. There were 22 of us there for the weekend. Crazy but fun. So grateful for my family and the special weekend we had. These pictures were followed by the baptism of Braden Swenson and the baby blessing of our newest family member Andrew Jones

Old Faithful

We finally made a stop at Yellowstone Park. The girls have been telling us that they are the ONLY kids in the whole school who have not been to Yellowstone. So since we drive through there every summer to get to ND we decided to take the time to stop this year. The girls all look like orphans since it was so windy and they had already been in the car for 7 hours that day. But we have now been there and seen Old Faithful.

July Goal

Well this was a good goal for us. Steve and I both read the articles in the Ensign and learned a lot from them. Neither of us play video games, but I do have a tendency to spend a lot of time on the computer. It was good for me to remember that playing with my kids is more important than playing on the internet. I did still use the Internet a lot, but I also got off of it a LOT quicker when my kids wanted/needed me. I also tried to play games or read to them, or take them places more frequent.
I also enjoyed the articles because they reminded us of what CAN happen if we are not careful on the interent. It is so easy to build up relationships that truly have no importance, compared to the relationships that you can build with your family. I hope that I will continue to remember what Elder Bednar taught and to always put my children and husband first. Thanks Ron for the good goal.

July goal report

I must be honest!! Dad and I did not do the July goal. Sorry Ron. There was just too much going on for us(me). Anyway we will treat the month of August as it was July and do the goal now if that's ok. We are going to start tonight!

Grandpa Singing

I caught Grandpa singing the song "If I Were a Merry Bird" at the nursing home. There's a little extra noise because he was sitting next to the elevator. Not sure why! It's pretty fun to listen to.

July Report

I thought the goal this month was a great one. We are getting way too doused with "media" in this day and age. I don't know how much less tv/computer time I actually did, but I was definitely more conscience of it when I was doing it. This is a goal I'd like to continue all the time.
