February's Goal - hmmm what could it be?

So due to the fact that this month is February the month of Love and my anniversary! My goal will be taken from Elder Henry B. Eyring's last conference talk on page 70. So I guess that is a good start - read the talk.
I would like to add a few lines from his talk that stuck out to me.
1. "the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is that we can and must expect to become better as long as we live"
2.Love is the motivating principle by which the Lord leads us along the way towards becoming like Him, our perfect example. Our way of life, hour by hour, must be filled with the love of God and love for others.
3."That is because the greatest joys and the greatest sorrows we experience are in family relationships. The joys come from putting the welfare of others about our own. That is what love is. And the sorrow comes primarily from selfishness, which is the absence of love."
4. " a man and a woman are to make sacred covenants that they will put the welfare and happiness of the OTHER at the center of their lives"
so that leads me to my goal
5."Pray for the love which allows you to see the good in your companion. Pray for the love that makes weaknesses and mistakes seem small. Pray for the love to make your companion's joy your own. Pray for the love to want to lessen the load and soften the sorrows of your companion" -everyday and I would add to pray for all those things about each other as a family so when the time comes we will have no "empty chairs in the world to come"
This should be a goal I don't have to help you with but interested to see how it effects our marriages in one month and our relationships as an extended family.
As the final part since it is on love and and showing that love - pay your donation to the Haiti fund as asked today in church by our first presidency.
Happy Loving to everyone this month!

  1. Okay, I missed the first 15 minutes of church this morning. What did the First Presidency say exactly?

  2. I didn't miss the first 15 minutes and I still didn't hear anything from the First Presidency. So I'm with Jill, what exactly did they say??

  3. our bishop read a letter from the first presidency and they asked everyone to pay what they could in the hum. aid section to help with the needed aid in Haiti. I think you need to write Haiti in that line. They also asked for lots of prayers in their behalf as they need peace and calming over there. The only other time I remember them asking for money so something specific was the tsunami and I didn't donate and have always felt guilty.

  10. Now you have to donate again Leesa since donating last Sunday does not count for the FEBRUARY goal.
